Abstract

Objective:To explore the relationship among serum sVCAM-1,vWF levels and severity of coronary atherosclerosis. Methods:The concentrations of serumsVCAM-1 and vWF were assayed by means of enzyme linked immunosorbant assay(ELISA);the severity of coronary atherosclerosis was evaluated by coronary angiography and its Gensini's score in 51 patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS),25 patients with stable angina pectoris(SAP) and 30 normal controls. Results:The concentrations of serum sVCAM-1 and vWF were significantly higher in ACS and SAP patients than those in normal controls(P0.001);the concentrations of serum sVCAM-1 in AMI patients were the highest and the concentrations of serum vWF were no significant difference between AMI and UAP patients. There was a significant positive correlation among the sVCAM,vWF and Gensini's score(r=0.642,P0.001;r=0.501,P0.01 respectively). Conclusion:The levels of serum sVCAM-1 and vWF may reflact the severity of coronary atherosclerosis.
