The System of Issuing the China & South Sea Bank Paper Money

In July 1921,the China South Sea Bank successfully got the right to issue currency in the period of Beiyang government. The China South Sea Bank carefully selected a few printing companies. The American Bank Note Co.,Waterlow and Sons Limited and De La Rue printing company successively published 6 editions and 13 types of banknotes for the China South Sea Bank in 14 years. In order to consolidate the credibility of currency,the China South Sea Bank carried out many system arrangements and innovations such as full reserve system,joint distribution system by the four banks,banknote receiving system. The execution of the systems ensured the smooth issuance of its bank notes.
