Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between the clustering of coronary heart disease(CHD) risk factors and the severity of coronary artery lesions. Methods A total of 2993 consecutive patients suspected of CHD were studied respectively. All patients underwent selective coronary angiography and received a survey of risk factors, including advanced age, male, diabetes, hyperlipemia, hypertension and smoking. Results The clustering of the CHD risk factors was associated with positive rate of coronary angiography and the extent and the severity of coronary artery lesions. Conclusion Not only the development but also the severity of coronary artery lesions is affected by the clustering of the CHD risk factors.
