Abstract
To evaluate the effectiveness of mineral trioxide aggregate(MTA)when used as pulp capping agent in pulp-capping treatment,36 patients with pulps exposed during carious cavity preparation were equally divided into two groups.The patients in experimental group were treated by direct pulp capping with MTA while the patients in control group were treated with light cure calcium hydroxide.Clinical and radiographic examinations were carried out in 24 months.The results showed the clinical success rate in experimental group was 94.44%while the rate of the control group was 83.33%.There were significant differences between two groups.It is concluded that MTA can serve as a great potential direct pulp-capping agent in pulp-capping treatment.
