Investigation on Pre-school Children’s Unhealthy Habits and Health Conditions in Oral Cavity

Objective In order to find out health conditions and unhealthy habits in oral cavity of the pre-school children in Lanzhou, and provide scientific evidence for children's health protection and education in oral cavity. Methods 1 280 children aged 3～6 years in Lanzhou were investigated using self-designed questionnaire and the software of SPSS 13.0 and chi-square test were used to analyze the data. Results There were 787 pre-school children who have unhealthy habits in oral cavity , accounted for 64.9% of the number of the respondents;There were 872 pre-school children who have diseases in oral cavity, accounted for 71.8% of the number of the respondents. The chi-square test indicated that children's unhealthy habits affected their health in oral cavity (χ2=3.654,P0.05). Conclusion Parents should take effective measures to help pre-school children to form healthy habits in oral cavity to prevent diseases in oral cavity.
