Abstract
Network management plays a key role in the great heterogeneous network.The traditional centralized network management cannot adapt to heterogeneous environments.Mobile agent and active network are novel technologies.After discussing their advantages and applications in network management,this paper introduces a mobile agent-based active networking architecture adapting to heterogeneous network management according to the network management model of ISO (International Standardization Organization).This architecture not only improves the network reliability and security, but also supports QoS route and scalability.
