Abstract
The tungsten deposits in the Shixing region, northern Guangdong Province, are composed mainly of quartz-vein type ones.Based on the precise Re-Os dating of the molybdenites from the ore-hosted quartz vein,we obtained the ore-forming ages of 154.2±2.7 Ma(MSWD=0.29)for the Shigushan tungsten-bismuth deposit and 159.1±2.2Ma(MSWD=3.9)for the Shirenzhang tungsten deposit. It suggested that the deposits were the products of the peak time of Mesozoic large-scale mineralization in the Nanling region,South China. Our new data provide an important isotope chronological evidence for further study of the regional mineralization regularities and the guidance of regional prospecting.
