Abstract
This paper investigated the steady and incompressible laminar pipe flow with porous wall in the presence of a transverse magnetic field.By stream function, the control equations reduced to no-linear ordinary differential equation with appropriate boundary conditions. It is assumed that the suction/injection Reynolds number and the magnetic Reynolds number are both small.Considering the small Reynolds number as a small parameter,we applied perturbation method to find the approximate solution. We further investigated the characteristics of the velocity, pressure drop and the coefficient of skin friction. It is found that the pressure drop in the major flow direction decreases/increase with the increase of suction /injection Reynolds numbers. And the skin friction decreases with the increasing of suction Reynolds number or magnetic field body.
