Abstract
Objective The study was conducted to analyze the death rate of cancer in China from 1973 to 2005,to understand the epidemiological trend of cancer death in China,and to provide some strategies for prevention.Methods Retrospective analysis was performed based on the epidemiological data of cancer death rate from 1973 to 2005.Results The cancer death rates were increasing,80.79/100 000 from 1973 to 1974,106.76/100 000 from 1990 to 1992,128.63/100 000 from 2004 to 2005.The first three leading causes of cancer death were stomach cancer,esophagus cancer,liver cancer from 1973 to 1974,stomach cancer,esophagus cancer,liver cancer from 1990 to 1992,lung cancer,liver cancer,stomach cancer from 2004 to 2005.Now the most common cause of death from cancer among men and women is lung cancer in China.Conclusion The cancer death rate is increasing,and target ed prevention measures should be implemented.
