Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of sapylin and sapylin plus cisplatine injected into thoracic cavity for treating malignant pleural effusion. Methods After malignant pleural effusion was abstracted completely out by thoracic cavity closed drainage,64 patients with malignant pleural effusion were divided into two groups randomly: treatment group and control group. The treatment group was given saline(20 ml) and sapylin(5KE) and 2% lidocaine into thoracic cavity;the control group was given dexamethasone(10 mg) firstly, then saline(20 ml) and sapylin(5KM),at last saline(20 ml) and cisplatine(20 mg) and 2% lidocaine into thoracic cavity. Results The two groups had the similar treatment efficacy, but the safety and side effect in the treatment group was better than the control group. Conclusion Sapylin is used to cure malignant pleural effusion. The method is reliable, less side effect and less pain, and improves the quality of life.
