Abstract
Objective To evaluate the relationship between angiotensin Ⅱ type 1 receptor (ATⅡR-1) gene A1166C polymorphism and ischemic stroke.Methods ATⅡR-1 gene A1166C polymorphism of 294 patients with ischemic stroke and 280 controls was determined by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and corresponding probe hybridization.Results The A1166C polymorphism was in agreement with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in either the patients or controls.But neither the prevalence rates of A1166C genotypes nor 1166C allele frequency was significantly different between the patients and controls.Conclusion The results suggest that the A1166C polymorphism of ATⅡR-1 gene cannot be a genetic risk factor of ischemic stroke in Chinese population.
