Abstract

According to the problem of poor whole smoothing effect for triangular mesh model,a new smoothing algorithm of triangular mesh surface is proposed,which includes four steps:first,the topological structure of the mesh surface was organized by the R*S-tree index structure;second,the triangular mesh surface was simplified non-uniformly based on the R*S-tree index structure;third,constructing the whole G1 triangular Bezier surface according to geometric feature of the simplified model,which makes the triangular Bezier surface the smoothing reference surface;forth,though the calculation of the point on the Bezier surface corresponding to the parametric triangular mesh model vertex,adjusting the mesh vertex to the reference surface in order to realize the smoothing treatment.Experimental results demonstrate that this method has desirable smoothing effects and the features of the triangular mesh surface are remained effectively.
