Abstract
This paper analyzes the tectonic settings and volcanic activities in the Carboniferous-Permian volcanic rocks in Luxi area,Junggar Basin through core observation, thin section identification, bulk rock analysis and X-ray diffraction by using comprehensive logging, seismic and gravity and magnetic field data;classifies rocks and lithofacies;establishes lithofacies model as guided by the concept of dominant lithofacies;summarizes the distribution pattern of the lithofacies;and studies the control action of lithology and lithofacies on the development of volcanic reservoirs and the distribution of favorable reservoirs. The results will be of guiding significance for further exploration in volcanic reservoirs.
