Abstract

With the development of Internet, IPv4 addresses are going to be exhausted. As the next generation of Internet protocol, IPv6 can resolve not only the problem that IPv4 address is short, but also other problems that IPv4 will face. This paper introduced the technological characteristic, prospective application of IPv6.
