Abstract
The effect of rare earth Ce on the structure of the electroless Co-Ni-B alloy was studied. The composition, structure and morphology of the Co-Ni-B-RE alloy coating were measured by the XRD,ICP,TEM and AFM.The results showed that with the increasing of cerium in the plating both, the boron content in alloy coating decreased, while cobalt, nickel and cerium contents increased. As a result, the amorphous Co-Ni-B alloy transformed to a microcrystalline structure. The surface of Co-Ni-B alloy coating was composed of taper humps. The surface of electroless Co-Ni-B alloy coating was much about smooth, and the irregular surface of coating was formed under the action of rare cerium.
