Abstract
The Fuji apple was used to study the effects of different concentrations of Si on fruit quality and Mn content in plants on acid soil. The results indicated that Si could significantly increase the content of soluble solid and vitamin C and reduce the titratable acid content in fruit, but had no obvious influence on fruit hardness.Silicon application reduced the available Mn in soil and resulted in the decrease of Mn content in different organs in varying degrees. The Mn content decreased the most in branch xylem, with a maximum of 64.8%.As a whole,1.732 g sodium metasilicate, nonahydrate was the best for every plant of 12-year-old Fuji apple tree.
