Abstract

Objective To investigate the significance and expression of CD44V6 in breast cancer. Methods The expression levels of CD44V6 gene protein in breast cancer tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The CD44V6 over expression,in 32 of 54 breast cancer tissues,in 3 of 11 benign breast tissues, was detectable, P 0.05.The positive rate of high expression in lymph node metastaiss(69.2%,18/26) was markly higher than that in non lymph nodes metastasis(54.5%,12/22), P 0.05.On the other hand,CD44V6 levels in invasion cancer showed higher expression than in non invasion, P 0.05.Conclusion The present data suggest that the anomalous expression levels of CD44V6 can be an important molecular biological change in breast cancer invasion and metastasis.
