Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the advantages of harvesting skeletonized internal thoracic artery(ITA) in coronary artery bypass grafting. Methods:The internal thoracic artery was mobilized from the satellite veins and surrounding tissue mainly using scissors and clips in 60 patients underwent coronary artery bypass grafting.Results:61 skeletonized ITAs were mobilized, the mean time of harvesting was 26.8 min.The mean blood flow of skeletonized ITA before anastomosis was 86.5ml/min,after anastomosis was 26.4ml/min.Follow-up data showed there were no cardiac deaths or cardiac events. Conclusion:Skeletonized ITA is as safe and effective as ITA with pedicel in coronary artery bypass grafting.
