Abstract
【Objective】To analyze the therapeutic effect of the lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion treated with plasma knife.【Methods】Clinical data of 72 cases with lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion treated with plasma knife were reviewed retrospectively. The pain level(visual analogue scale,VAS) of the preoperation in 3 months after operation and 6 months after operation, therapeutic efficacy and complications were also analyzed.【Results】 The VAS score of 72 cases in 3 months after operation was significant lower than that of the preoperation(1.4±1.3 vs 7.4±2.3,P0.05),similarly the VAS score in 6 months after operation was significant lower than that of the preoperation(1.3±1.1 vs 7.4±2.3,P0.05),while there was similar VAS scores between the 3 months and the 6 months after operation(P0.05).Three months after the operation, among 72 cases,17 cases were fully recovered,50 excellent,3 effective and 2 ineffective. There were no complications in 6-month follow-up.【Conclusion】Plasma knife is a promising treatment option for patients with lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion. It has advantages of less damage, simple procedure, short time, good therapeutic effect, quick recovery and less complication,so it should be widely used.
