Abstract
The retarder is essential for ensuring the rheology of cement slurry under high temperatures, but the retarders currently developed in China can only be used in service under 180℃.In order to perform smooth cementing operations under high temperatures in deep wells,we developed an oil-well retarder WHJ with high molecular weight, which takes phosphatic compounds as its major raw materials. It contains radicals easy to be adsorbed by cement grains and having high inhibition on cement hydration, featured by a big force between the molecules and the cement grain particles, uneasy desorption resulting from high molecular weight, and excellent retarding performance under high temperatures. The field applications show that this new retarder,WHJ,has high inhibition on cementing under high temperatures.
