Abstract

AIM:: To compare the root canal straightening and the apical transportation by using three types of instruments to prepare curved root canals and offer experimental evidences for the ProFile and ProTaper's clinic implement.METHODS: Thirty extracted mandibular first premolars were divided into three groups.Group SS was prepared with stainless steel K-files,group PT with ProTaper NiTi hand instruments,and group PF with ProFile NiTi rotary instruments.After preparations the straightening of curved root canals and the apical transportation were compared.RESULTS: The straightening degree of root canals and the apical transportation in group SS were bigger than those of the other two groups.CONCLUSION: The ProFile NiTi rotary instruments and ProTaper NiTi hand instruments are more suitable to the curved root canal's preparation than the stainless steel files.
