Abstract

SIP(Session Initiation Protocol)is a protocol of multimedia signaling made by IETF with the development of Internet and by using reference to the successful experience of web transaction,and it is mainly applied to create,change and terminate the call and session of multimedia.SIP is a text-based protocol which is similar to HTTP and SMTP,so it has such characteristics as easy-reading,easy-extending and easy-debugging.The paper simply introduces the functional components and message system of SIP,then provides the hierarchy structure model of SIP protocol stack improvement and finally gives the structure and software flow of SIP protocol stack.
