Abstract
Sorption behavior of phosphorus(P) on the Yellow River sediment was determined in laboratory. The modified Langmuir isotherm equation was used to describe phosphorus sorption on the Yellow River sediments and sorption parameter of phosphorus was subsequently obtained by the sorption experiment and corresponding model. The study results show that the sediment is a potential source of phosphate,P adsorption deceased significantly with the increase of solid concentration(particle concentration effect) and the desorption of P on Yellow River sediments was irreversible.
