THE POST-OPERETIVE ANALGESIC EFFECTS OF EPIDURAL MORPHINE AND KETAMINE: A RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED STUDY IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING COLON RECTUM CANCER SURGERY

Abstract

Objective: To compare the effects of morphine combined with ketamine epidural application before and after operation. Methods: Fifty eight colon rectum cancer patients were randomly divided into two groups: groupⅠ(n=28),morphine 2mg plus ketamine 30mg plus 0.75% bupivacaine 4ml plus NS to a total of 6ml for epidural injection before anesthesia; Group Ⅱ(n=28), the same epidural injection administered after operation. Postoperative analgesic effects and the incidences of complications were recorded. Result: There were 22 painless patients(78.6%) in group Ⅰand 16 painless patients(57.1%) in groupⅡ,the difference was significant( P 0.05). The VAS scores during post operative analgesia in group Ⅰwere obviously lower than that in groupⅡ( P 0.05). But the incidences of nausea,vommiting,pruritus,abdominal distention and the exhaust time had no significant difference between groupⅠand Ⅱ( P 0.05).Conclusion: Morphine combined with ketamine for epidural application produced a better past operative analgesia when its administered before rather than after operation.
