Abstract
The discovery of osteoprotegerin(OPG) /receptor activator of nuclear factor kB(RANK) / receptor activator of nuclear factor kB ligand(RANKL) system promoted the development of RANKL monoclonal antibody denosumab.Denosumab could prevent the interaction of RANKL and its receptors, thus inhibiting osteoclast formation as well as its survival and function, reduce the bone absorption, increase the bone mineral density. In May 2010,the drug had been approved for use in postmenopausal osteoporosis and prostate cancer patients with hormone suppression treatment related bone loss in the European Union.Denosumab is a promising new method in treating bone tumors of dissolve osseous.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
