Abstract
Structures of phosphorous flame-retardant polyester and its spinnability were characterized by infrared spectra(IR),intrinsic viscosity,differential scanning calorimeter(DSC),oxygen index(OI).The results showed that the flexible segments for phosphorous flame-retardant monomer were also introduced into the backbone of the polyester macromolecules,which caused the decrease of glass transition temperature,melting transition temperature and crystal property of phosphorous flame-retardant polyester.The synthesized phosphorous flame-retardant polyester resins had a very good flame retardant ability and spinnability.When the content of phosphorous flame-retardant monomer was 4.5%,the oxygen index of phosphorous flame-retardant polyester could reach 32.8%.The results indicated that the properties of phosphorous flame-retardant polyester could satisfy the requirements of the polyester fibers manufacture.
