Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effective approach of surgery for condylar osteoma through three typical patients with condylar osteoma treated in our Department in recent years.Modified coronoid process or autogenous costochondral graft was used to reconstruct their temporomandibular joint(TMJ) simultaneously after resecting tumor and condyle. After a follow-up period of 3 months to 2 years, very satisfactory postsurgical outcomes were obtained in terms of function of the TMJ and appearances. It was an effective alternative to treat condylar osteoma.
