Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To detect the methylation rate of two cancer suppressor genes of Ras association domain family 1A(RASSF1A)and p16,and to explore the relationship between promoter regions methylation of p16,RASSF1A genes of lung cancer patients and normal people.METHODS:The methylation-specific PCR(MSP)was used to detect the promoter regions methylation status of p16,RASSF1Agenes in lung cancer and normal people plasma from 130cases in the Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University.RESULTS:Fifty-one cases(39.2%)promoter region abnormal methylation of p16gene were found in 130cases of patients with lung cancer.Fifty-six cases(43.0%)promoter region abnormal methylation of RASSF1A were found in 130cases of patients with lung cancer. Two cases(1.53%)and 1case(0.77%)promoter region abnormal methylation of p16and RASSF1Agenes were found respectively in 130cases of normal people. The statistics results showed significant difference between lung cancer and normal people(P0.001). CONCLUSION:The promoter regions abnormal methylation of RASSF1Aand p16genes had been proved to be closely related with lung cancer. The detection of promoter regions abnormal methylation of lung cancer-related genes had a certain application value in the early diagnosis of lung cancer.
