The present essay discusses Professor Wu Ben-xing' s poetic theory and creation. The author thinks that Wu's seventy-odd years' poetic creation is the real manifestation of his spiritual progress which is the passionate pursuit of the truth, the good and the beautiful and merciless castigation of the false, the evil and the ugly. His poems possess not only poetic passion but also intellectual wisdom. In the research of poetic theory, the establishment of his Appreciation of Poetic Beauty has profound significance in the theoretic construction of poetry.
