Abstract

Objective:To analyze the results and indications of surgical treatment in isolated destroyed lung.Methods:32 patients performed for isolated destroyed lung resection were reviewed. The perioperative pulmonary function,PO2 in artery blood gas analysis, and SiO2 were assessed focusing on the changes. The surgical results were sought to be analyzed. Results:No surgery related death and serious early complications happened among all patients.Delayed thoracic drainage occurred in 4 cases, mild hemoptysis happened in 6 cases and all got recovery undergoing conservative treatments with 7 to 14 days.Poor healing incisions occurred in 2 cases and were cured with dressing changes and secondary suture. All patients accepted 6 to 12 months follow-up.Activity tolerance was kept in a low level in 3 patients, other 29 patients could stay in a moderate level and attended daily activities. Conclusion:Early surgical resection is feasible for the patients with isolated destroyed lung with available results.
