Abstract
A complicated biogas purification plant is not proper to be built at the landfill sites of towns or cities,where the unsteadily generated biogas is made up of complex components,and neither water nor electricity can be conveniently supplied.In view of this,this paper presents a case history of producing the compressed biogas at a landfill.Based on the basic characteristics of biogas and the actual situation there,the in-situ production of the compressed biogas is regarded as one of the most effective means of using landfill biogas.Its involved techniques and main equipments are introduced in detail and the solutions to the key technical difficulties are put forward herein.This successful case history demonstrates that the properly chosen techniques can help achieve a considerable profit by reducing the production cost.In conclusion,a biogas recovery plant with the capacity of 500 m3 per hour will help save 4018 tons of standard coal consumption and reduce 6000 tons of CO2 emission each year.
