Abstract

The Fe-Cu metallogenic belt at Chagannur region of Western Tianshan, a key one of Xinjiang, formed during Yili rifting of Carboniferous-Permian time. The ore types cover sedimentary Pb-Zn sulfides of volcanic eruption, transformed sedimentary Fe-Cu, Cu-Zn and Cu sulfides of volcanic eruption, Cu sulfides of volcanic geothermal, geothermal gold, and volcanic geothermal Cu-Ag deposits. The multi-metal metallogenic series of Fe, Cu, Zn, Pb and Ag are classified as being related to marine volcanic-sedimentary rocks of Lower Carboniferous. The sub-class metallogenic series include strata-bound sulfide deposits and Cu-Ag deposits related to continental volcanic-subvolcanic rocks of Lower Permian. Different styles are seen at Chagannur, Qinhabdaikesala, Shengli, Baletaosala, Hargagalinen and Aikendaban.
