Abstract

Hobbes thinks that in a political community an individual can consider the will of a common authority as his own through a certain social contract.This general will of Hobbes’ has a great influence on those who want to interpret Rousseau’s general will,thus leading to many misunderstandings about Rousseau’s general will.
