Abstract
The sintering behaviors of α-Al2O3 with different grain size were investigated respectively at two heating rates. The influences of grain size and heating rates on the relationship of densification rates with the relative density were analyzed. It was found that the maximum densification rates of the 150nm and 350nm sample occurred at the relative density of 69.7% and 73.0% respectively. At the same time, it was obtained that the maximum densification rates of the 350nm specimen appeared at the relative density of about 73.0% at two heating rates of 5℃ /min and 2℃ /min, which is independent of the heating rates.
