Abstract

On the basis of analysis on the characteristics of present main production technologies of potassium sulfate,a new method of producing potassium sulfate from phosphogypsum and potash feldspar is proposed. The experimental results show that the decomposition rate of calcium sulfate reaches 85.56%,in the meantime, the conversion rate of potassium can reach 92.17% when phosphogumpse-potash feldspar-coke are baked at 1200 ℃.They have not obvious variation when the temperature rises continually. The technology has low baking temperature, the demand of decomposition rate of phosphogumpse is easier reached. The technology can not only obtain potassium sulfate but also sulfuric acid. This new process is considered to be a good future of industrial application.
