Clinical Analysis of Improved Trabeculectomy in 160 Cases

Abstract

Objective To investigate the improved trabeculectomy methods and observe it's effect.Methods 160 patients(165 eyes) with primary angle-closure glaucoma were treated by modified trabeculectomy.The intraocular pressure(IOP),the filtering blebs,the visual acuity and the complications after operation were measured.Followed-up time was from 6 months to 10 years,average was 6 years and 2 months.Results Among 165 eyes,158 eyes(95.76%) were well controlled in IOP after operation,the functional filtering blebs occurred in 157 eyes(95.15%),11 eyes(6.67%) occurred Ⅰ/Ⅱ shallow anterior chamber,no other serious complications occurred.Conclusions The improved technology for the treatment of glaucoma contributes to the formation of the early postoperative anterior chamber and the functional filtering blebs.It can take the initiative to adjust filtering function,reduce complications and improve surgical results,and it is easy,so it is advantageous for the clinical application.
