Out-hospital Comprehensive Nursing of the Patients after Laryngeal Cancer Operation

The paper summarized the experience of out-hospital comprehensive nursing of 48 patients after laryngeal cancer operations.The authors argued that patients should be treated with comprehensive nursing because the change of their mental status,language ability,feeding methods and respiratory channel affected their normal life style and living quality.The comprehensive nursing included: giving mental nursing aiming at the horror and pessimism of the patients and obtaining support of the family;establishing New Voice Club of Foshan to make the patients underwent laryngeal operations obtain language rehabilitation and adapt to their normal lives with the help of medical staffs;setting up the laryngeal specialized nursing out-patient clinic and helping the patients with solving the normal problems of the family nursing,providing the direction of the daily nursing and rehabilitation nursing.All 48 patients in the group can totally restore self-care ability through out-hospital nursing and 45 obtained at least one method of voice production.Thus,their quality of life was improved.
