Several Methods for Sterilizing Hands: A Surveillance

Abstract

OBJECTIVE To find the method for sterilizing hands which is effective, fast, easy, conveniente and without stimulation for medical worker in nursing care. METHODS A total of 100 medical workers were tested. In test group Essentials of Health Skin and Hand Disinfectant, Jiefurou′s sterilizer gel, towels of 0.2% peracetic acid and electrolyzed oxidizing water were used. In control group only soap with flowing water was used for hand wash. RESULTS Their bacterial clearance was 97.38%, 79.19%, 100%, 74.6%, 68.26%, respectively. The efficacy of Essentials of Health Skin and Hand Disinfectant was similar to 0.2% peracetic acid. Both two were singnificant different compared with others. CONCLUSIONS 0.2% Peracetic acid and Essentials of Health Skin and Hand Disinfectant are preferred for sterilizing hands. But Essentials of Health Skin and Hand Disinfectant is more easier in use.
