Abstract

Objective To investigate the role of CDX2 during the development of IM by detecting its expression in different IM and the expression change in H.pylori infection, and to discuss the significance of CDX2 in different IM.Methods The expression of CDX2 was detected immunohistochemically in 58 cases of normal gastric mucosa,184 cases of IM and 36 cases of gastric cancer. The IM was divided into three subtypes by HID-ABpH2.5-PAS methods:81 cases of IM I,62 cases of IM II and 41 cases of IM III.The H.pylori Ig G was detected by ELISA method and H.E.staining in 184 cases of IM,which were divided into 79 cases(H.pylori-positive group)and 105 cases(H.pylori-negative group). Results The positive rates of CDX2 expression in IM and gastric cancer were significantly higher than that of normal gastric mucosa, which was all negative(P 0.01).The positive rate of CDX2 expression of gastric cancer was lower than that of IM(P 0.01).The positive rates of CDX2 expression in IM I,IM Ⅱ and IM Ⅲ were decreased, with significant difference between IM Ⅰ and IM III(P 0.01),and there was a difference between IM Ⅱ and IM Ⅲ(P 0.01).The positive rate of CDX2 expression in IM Ⅰ and IM Ⅱ had significantly difference compared with gastric cancer group(P 0.01,P0.05,respectively),while there was no difference between IM Ⅲ and gastric cancer group.CDX2 was located in IM cellular nucleus. The positive rates of CDX2 in H.pylori-positve groups IM were higher than those of H.pylori-negative groups(P 0.05).Conclusion CDX2 is a good index for judging the differentiation degree of IM,and al-so for judging the gastric mucosa lesion malignancy.
