Abstract

This paper reports two new genera and three new species of Tetrigidae from Yunnan and Sichuan. The type specimens are deposited in the Department of Biology, Shaanxi Normal University.Gibbotettix Zheng, gen. nov.Small. Vertex very wide, its width larger than the width of one eye about 2-2.6 times, pined with the frons fcrming a rectangle; frontal ridge protuberant between the antennae. Antennae inserted below the eyes, filiform, slender, the length of middle segments larger than width about 7-9 times. Eyes globose. Anterior half of pronotum distinctly prominent, humpbacklike, posterior half flat; shoulder obtusely angular; apical part of hind process truncate, slightly concave in the middle; posterior angles of the lateral lobes of pronotum nearly square. Elytra and wings wanting. Upper and lower margins of anterior and middle femora with two lobe-like processes. The length of first segment of hind tarsus larger than second and third segments together.Type species: Gibbottix emeiensis Zheng. This new genus is allied to Cladonotella Hanc. 1908 and Potua Bol. 1887, but differs from both by: 1) apical part of hind process of pronotum truncate, slightly concave in the middle; 2) antenna long and slender, its length of middle segments larger than width about 7-9 times.Gibbotettix emeiensis Zheng, sp. nov. (Figs 1-2)Female: Body fuscous; the 14 segment of antenna white, the other segments fuscous. Male: Unknown.Length of female: 10mm; antenna 6mm; pronotum 10mm; hind femur 6mm. Holotype (?) , Sichuan:Emei, 200m, 22-Ⅵ-1955.Gibbotettix hongheensis Zheng, sp. nov. (Figs 3-5)This new species is allied to G. emeiensis Zheng, but differs from the latter by the characters of its male: 1) vertex wider than one eye about two times; 2) lateral ridge of vertex distinctly prominent, lobe-like; 3) the distance between antenna and eye short; 4) anterior margin of pronotum straight; 5) humpback of pronotum gradually lowering backward.Female: Unknown.Length of male: 8-11mm; antenna 6-7mm; pronotum 7-9mm; hind femur 6-7mm.Holotype (?), paratype (?), Yunnan: Pingbian, 350m. 25-Ⅵ-1956.Bidentatettix Zheng, gen. nov.Small. Integument coarsely tuberculous. Vertex wider than one eye about 3.5 times; anterior margin with two sharp teeth forward. Frontal ridge protuberant between antennae. Antennae inserted below eyes. Eyes globose. Median keel of pronotum distinct in anterior half, with big or small tubercules; lateral keels serrated, distinct in prozona; shoulders indistinct, along the lateral margin of pronotum with a row of small tubercules; anterior margin straight with a row of of samll tubercules; anterior margin straight with a row of teeth; hind process wedge-like; posterior angles of the lateral lobes of pronotum with five sharp teeth, the second one long and curved forward. Elytra and wings developed, wings extended to the top of hind process of pronotum. Upper and lower margins of all femora with a row of large sharp teeth. Length of first segment of hind tarsus larger than second and third segments together.Type species: Bidentatettix yunnanensis, sp. nov.The new genus is allied to Falconis Bol. 1898, but differs by: 1) anterior marginn of vertex with two sharp teeth forward; 2) posterior angles of lateral lobes of pronotum with five sharp teeth; 3) upper and lower margins of all femora with a row of sharp teeth.Bidentatettix yunnanensis Zheng, sp. nov. (Figs 6-8) Female: Body and antennae fuscous. Male: Unknown.Length of female: 15mm; antenna 5mm; pronotum 17mm; hind femur 8mm. Holotype (?), Yunnan: Xishuangbanna, 620-650m. 27-Ⅴ -1959.
