Abstract
The Devonian slope carbonate sediments located eastern edge of the Gumujie Platform, Wenshan of Yunnan Province, comprise the gravity current and the nongravity current. The gravity current includes the clastic current, the gliding sliding sediment layer and the turbidity current. The whole slope system may be divided vertically into three sedimentary cycles. Eleven plankton zones of late Early Devonian to early Middle Devonian are set up. Studies of the slope carbonate gravity current are of important significance in the studies of paleogeography and paleotectonic environment.
