Abstract
The Bromus stamineusDesv.was introduced as an forage species in the semiarid Inner Mongolia,Different sowing methods and plant densities was designed. The differences of growth indexes were compared under various sowing methods and densities of the introduced B.stamineus. In order to find out the effects of various sowing methods and densities on the growth of B.stamineus,a trial was set up with two sowing methods: broadcast sowing and sowing in strips, three row spacing(15cm,20cm,25cm) and three sowing densities(206 kernels·row-1,412 kernels·row-1,618 kernels·row-1) in strip sowing.Observations on each treatment were made on the bud rate, tillers, aboveground biomass, plant height, seed yield, thousand kernels weight and growth rate.Every treatment combination had 4 replications.By the method of ANOVA and field experiment design, the appropriate sowing methods and pant densities of B.stamineuswere to be identified. Results were:(1) Under the treatment of the broadcast sowing and plant density of 549 kermels·m-2,B.stamineus has the highest bud rate, fresh weight, seed yield, while treated with 25cm row spacing and 412 kermels·m-2 densities, the tillers, height, growth rate were the highest;(2) Under the treatment of the broadcast sowing and plant density of 549 kermels·m-2,growth rate was lower, whereas those treated with 15cm row spacing and 824 kermels·m-2 densities had the highest seed yield.(3) Under different treatments of sowing methods and densities,B.stamineusexhibited satisfactory performance.ANOVA analysis suggested that the best cultivation method for this species was broadcast sowing at 549 kermels·m-2.(4) The results of ANOVA showed that interaction between row spacing and plant density all have significant effects on the bud rate, tillers, fresh weight, and seed yield of B.stamineus.
