Abstract

The characteristics of urban non-point source pollution in Fuzhou were studied by site monitoring on rainfall runoff water quality of several sample regions. The results showed that the water quality of most Fuzhou surface rainfall runoff exceeded corresponding national standard indicators of Ⅴ class surface water, especially for CODcr.Often, the concentrations of pollutants in the early stage of a precipitation were relatively higher, and,by the extension of raining time, they would descend gradually, going down to some stabilization level.Different functional areas varied greatly in the average concentration of pollutants, for example, traffic zones and industrial zones, compared to other regions, were under more serious pollution.
