Comparative study on winemaking cultivars of grape in Zhangye Prefecture,Gansu Province

The five winemaking cultivars(Pinot Noir,Merlot,Carignane,Cabernet Souvignon and Cabernet Franc) of grape introduced to Zhangye Prefecture,Gansu Province,were taken as test materials.The botanical characteristic,agronomical characteristic,cold-resistance,berry quality of every cultivar had been comparatively observed in order to find out winemaking cultivars more suitable for local development,and offer certain theoretical foundation for winemaking and vineyard construction in this area.The final result showed that more suitable winemaking cultivars were as‘Merlot’,‘Pinot Noir’,‘Cabernet Souvignon’.
