Abstract
When a new tunnel is constructed beside existing tunnel, during excavation influences on safety of supports of existing tunnel should be considered. This paper analyzes construction methods for twin-arch tunnel adjacent to existing tunnel and the factors of interaction between new tunnel and existing tunnel. With Chang'an Twin-arch Tunnel in Fujian Province as calculation model, the paper analyzes range of influence on wall rock and influences on plastic zone, lining displacement and internal stress of existing tunnel during excavation of new twin-arch tunnel in detail so as to provide a reference for design and construction of similar tunnel projects.
