Abstract
To provide a basis for the prevention and cure of Phytophthora capsici pathogen, pathogen isolation, quantitative detection, matching culture and over-wintering survival studies were carried out with soil infected with Phytophthora capsici. The results show that the number of Phytophthora capsici pathogens keeps the largest number in May,June,July and August, and the smallest in winter and early spring. Two matching types (A 2,A 1A 2) of Phytophthora capsici are identified in Changsha region of Hunan, and they often overwinter in the soil as oospore.Infected soil and remains of infected plants are the main primary infection sources of capsicum pathogen.
