Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of early enteral nutrition of esophageal cancer patients after operation and its nursing methods. Methods The material of 186 patients undergoing esophagogastrostomy and esophagectomy from June 2009 to December 2012 was retrospectively analyzed. Enteral nutrition was used within 24 hours after operation. Rehabilitation, preoperative nutrition and postoperative nutrition of the eighth day were compared. Results All of the patients tolerated the enteral nutrition well without serious complications and were healed. The concentration of albumin, prealbumin and transferrin in the eighth day of postoperation were significantly higher than that of preoperation( P 0. 05). However, difference in the level of body weight and haemoglobin was not statistically significant( P 0. 05). Conclusion Early enteral nutrition can improve the nutritional status in patients after esophagogastrostomy. Standardized nursing is crucial to successfully implement enteral nutrition and reduce the incidence of complications.
