Abstract
Mao Zedong's dialectics and Deng Xiaoping' s are related to each other on the one hand, but they have their own characteristics on the other. Mao Zedong puts more emphasis on the belligerence of contradictions, while Deng Xiaoping attaches more importance to the identity of contradictions; Mao Zedong emphasizes its imbalance, while Deng Xiaoping pays more attention to its balance. Both Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping performed everything according to dialectics, but Mao still insisted on his contention philosophy in his late years. However, Deng Xiaoping succeeded in converting contention philosophy to philosophy. Deng Xiaoping initiated a new page for the cause of socialist construction with Chinese characteristics, and promoted the development of dialectics both in theory and practice and thus created living and historical dialectics.
