Abstract
Pinion life of the helical gear pair in the transmission of a heavy-duty truck is insufficient. In this paper, gear's static emulation was carried out by use of ANSYS software, and the distributing graph of static contact stress was obtained. The dynamic contact stress was analyzed based on ANSYS/LS-DYNA.The simulation results show that the dynamic stress is larger than the static stress.Integrated static and dynamic analysis, the lowest bending strength is located at the root of the driving gear's meshing tooth, which may be broken at that moment.
