Abstract

The spirit of Wang Xiaobo's works takes root in his unique life and in his absorption of the English and American empirical and liberalistic philosophy from the works of such philosophers as Bertrand Russell. The originality of Wang Xiaobo reflects to a great extent the ideas of democracy and liberty of the Western philosophers. However, the obvious lack of the inheritance of Chinese cultural tradition is a shortcoming in Wang Xiaobo's works.
